As Valentine's Day approaches, families will share special holiday memories. Classic Cartoons Parents and Children Will Enjoy

Be My Valentine Charlie Brown (1975)

Summary: Charlie Brown simply doesn’t get much slack in the romance department. On Valentine's Day, he is left wondering if anyone will send him a card. Meanwhile, Lucy attempts to get Schroeder to profess his feelings for her, in her predictable way Sally chases after Linus, and Snoopy is inundated with Valentine’s cards.

Mickey & Minnie's Sweetheart Stories (2004)

Running time: 60 minutes

Summary: Disney released this charming collection of animated short cartoons. It stars the favorite couples of Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, and other classic characters. Of particular interest may be the vintage movie clip “Pluto’s Heart Throb.” Parents and children will enjoy every minute of Disney’s heart-warming shorts.

Alvin and the Chipmunks – A Chipmunk Valentine (1984)

Running Time: 57 minutes

Summary: Alvin and Brittany squabble, resulting in her ditching him just before the Valentine Ball. In an effort to win her back, Alvin becomes suave and smooth. Brittany is, indeed, infatuated with the charming Alvin, and they go to the Valentine Ball together. Alvin learns the importance of being himself in this episode. Three other episodes included.

Contemporary Children’s Show Sure to Be Favorite DVDs

Clifford - Big Red Valentine/ King Clifford (2000)

Running time: 110 minutes

Summary: Children will delight as their favorite big red dog celebrates Valentine’s Day. A total of eight episodes are included, with three that are specifically related to the holiday. The late John Ritter offered his talents to give Clifford a voice. It is sure to be a favorite DVD for kids throughout the year.

Winnie the Pooh - Un-Valentine's Day/A Valentine for You (1999/1994)

Summary: The set includes both episodes. In Un-Valentine’s Day, Rabbit attempts to cancel Valentine’s Day. The previous year, Valentine’s Day cards littering the Hundred Acre Wood bothered Rabbit. Sadly, everyone agrees to Rabbit’s request. But when Pooh receives a mystery Valentine gift, it has everyone, including Rabbit, getting into the spirit of the holiday. In A Valentine for You, residents of the Hundred Acre Wood become concerned when they learn that Christopher Robin has made a Valentine for a girl. Pooh and friends worry that Christopher Robin will forget about them. This episode, which includes three songs, contains the moral that a heart always has room for friends- both old and new.

Barney: Be My Valentine, Love Barney (2000)

Summary: Barney and friends go to Valentine Castle to celebrate the holiday with the Queen of Hearts. This episode, that never appeared on television, features 15 songs and fun activities. This DVD is perfectly suited to toddlers and younger children.
